Crawley is an energetic, exciting and thriving New Town, with a diverse population of c120,000, and a £6bn economy. Situated halfway between London and Brighton, it is set alongside the beautiful countryside of West Sussex on the edge of the High Weald. Home to key organisations including Gatwick Airport, Crawley continues to offer sustained growth, high quality employment opportunities and a great quality of life. We have many successes to shout about, including delivering multi-million pound regeneration schemes, the Crawley Growth Programme and building our new Town Hall, which provides a modern and high-quality working environment.
As one of the first New Towns, Crawley was planned to reflect the countryside that surrounds the town, offering a particularly pleasant environment in which to live and work. Read more about Crawley’s New Town History (pdf, 16kb).
The town is divided into a series of residential neighbourhoods around the town centre, each with its own schools, shops and community facilities.
Crawley is the largest inland town in West Sussex. It is home to a host of multi-national businesses who benefit from excellent air, rail and road links.
